Update on The Stickney House
The Foundation has held two fund raisers this year. A Renaissance Fair was held in June at the Still farm and was well attended despite poor weather. In August, the Second Annual Bull Valley Police Golf Outting was held at Boone Creek Golf Course in the Village. The outting was a great success and raised funds for the benefit of the Stickney House Foundation which will be used to continue restoration work.
A meeting of the Council of Historic Groups was held on September 25th including a tour of the work completed up to now and the future plans for the House.
Upcoming events for the Foundation include a White Witch's Tea on November 1st and an Appreciation Day to held at the Stickney House in December. Planning is already under way for next year's fund raising. A Bull Valley Days event may be held in June and the Third Annual Golf Outting will be held in August.
Future plans for the House include a replacement for the north entrance to the House later this fall if the weather permits, or early next spring. Work continues inside to prepare for the restoration of the second floor. Cleanup, relocation of Village records and an estimate of the scope of work and funding needed to move forward with this work continues to be accomplished.
